25th Mason Holiday Lighted Parade 2026

The Mason Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 25th Mason Holiday Lighted Celebration! We would like to invite you to join us for the tree lighting ceremony where the Citizen of the Year will give the command to light the tree. The holiday parade with its lights all aglow will arrive downtown shortly after the tree lighting. Parade Participant Information Parade staging will take place at Bond Park at Columbia and Rogers. The parade line-up begins at 4:30 p.m. Participates are asked to please arrive for staging by 5:30 p.m. and the parade will step off at 6:15 p.m. All parade units, walkers and participates MUST be lit up. Parade registrants that DO NOT have lights will not be allowed to line up and participate in the parade. This is not only for the enjoyment of our spectators but for the safety for all. To register to be in the parade please click on "Register" and fill in all of the required fields. Once you have registered you will receive a confirmation email. If you are a MACC member who would like to be a sponsor, please select your sponsorship package and fill in the required fields or contact the office (517) 676-1046. Get your generator or inverter humming and use as many lights as you can on your parade unit so it will light up the night. (No live Santas!) By Police Order: NO THROWING CANDY or other items from parade units is permitted. Walkers only may walk to sidelines and hand out candy or other items to spectators. This popular event features 130 vendor lawn spaces and welcomes crafters, artists, food vendors, and more. Vendor Information Booth Fees: Non-Profit Booth - $50 ​MACC Member Booth - $100 MACC Member Two Booths - $175 Non-Member Booth - $125 Non-Member Two Booths - $225 A map with booth locations will be emailed to all registered vendors the week of the event. ​ Deadline to Register: Monday, April 19, 2027 Space Size: 10’ x 10’ lawn space Event Type: Non-juried Setup Requirement: Vendors must set up 18 inches from sidewalks to avoid sprinkler lines. Vevay Township permits, burning and zoning

The Township publishes separate requirements for recreational, brush and barrel burning and directs residents to call the City of Mason at 517-676-9155 for a burning permit. For zoning or building questions, contact Vevay Township at 517-676-9523 before beginning work.

Alaiedon Township open-burning and campfire permits

Alaiedon Township requires a Township-authorized permit for open burning. Obtain it from Alaiedon Township at 517-676-9277; the open-burning permit is valid for four days, allows daylight burning only, and prohibits burning when wind is 10 mph or higher. Small recreational campfires use a separate Township permit currently expiring March 31, 2028. The published Alaiedon forms do not state a separate call-to-activate step. Delhi Township Fire Department is listed as Alaiedon's fire-service provider, while Mason Fire reports serving a portion of Alaiedon; the Township remains the permit contact.

Aurelius Township burn permits and activation

For brush burning in Aurelius Township, renew the free permit annually through the City of Mason Customer Service Desk at 517-676-9155. After renewal, call to activate the same permit every time you burn; each activation is valid for four days and is reported to the 911 Center. Brush burning is daylight-only, is prohibited above 10 mph winds or in extremely dry conditions, and is not permitted within 1,400 feet outside the City limits. A qualifying recreational fire outside the City limits does not require a permit; a compliant trash barrel also does not require one, but strict material and safety limits apply.

Vevay Township burn permits and activation

For brush burning in Vevay Township, obtain the free permit through the City of Mason Customer Service Desk at 517-676-9155 or at 201 W. Ash Street. You must call to activate the permit before burning and call every time you burn so the active permit can be reported to the 911 Center. Brush burning is daylight-only, is prohibited at wind speeds above 10 mph or in extremely dry conditions, and is not permitted within 1,400 feet outside the City limits. A qualifying recreational fire outside the City limits does not require a permit; a compliant trash barrel also does not require one, but strict material and safety limits apply.

City of Mason recreational fire rules

Inside the City of Mason, the published rules allow qualifying recreational fires in a metal container, masonry ring or manufactured device. Fires may be no larger than 36 inches across with flames no higher than 24 inches, must be at least 15 feet from structures and property lines, and cannot burn from midnight to 7 a.m. Yard waste, leaves and trash are prohibited. The City sheet does not instruct residents to obtain or activate the township brush-burning permit; call Customer Service at 517-676-9155 if a proposed fire does not clearly fit the recreational-fire rules.
